Black-chinned Hummingbird
Black-chinned Hummingbird
© Tom Callahan
Published: July 26, 2010
Subscriber Tom Callahan of Phoenix photographed this Black-chinned Hummingbird
(Archilochus alexandri)
just as it spread its wings and tail wide. He found the bird, a male, in Madera Canyon, Arizona, the place our readers’ voted No. 3 on their list of
favorite places to watch hummingbirds
. Tom used a Canon 40D and a 400mm f/5.6L lens.
